To the Honorable Mayor and Common Councilof the City of Seattle: Your petitioners would respectfully represent, that they are the owners of the two lots on the north and south sides of Alder St. and adjoining the alley between Seventh and Sixth Sts.: that by the profile now at the office of the city engineer it is proposed to grade Alder St. level at the crossing of said alley and street. Your petitioners are the most interested of any of the property holders adjacent to said crossing, in as much as they are the owners of the most of the property immediatl affected by said grade. in our opinion the present grade of the alley north from Alder St. accomodates and will amply accomodate the property adjacent thereto, and there is no occasion for the grading of the alley level across said Alder St. Wherefore your petitioners would respectfully petition that said alley be not graded across Alder St., and that the grade of Alder St the terrace between Sixth and Seventh Sts. be made with view to the best use of Alder St.\ irrespective of the grading of said alley.
