No 553 Liquor License to whom it may concern Know ye by these Presents, that the City of Seattle, State of Washington. has licensed H Beede Cafe Co Incorporated doing business under the firm name and style of the Beede Cafe to sell by retail Intoxicating Liquors in the 4th ward of said city at the following location to-wit: Name of building Butler Block no. of buildng located on North side of James Street for the period of One Year, from July 1st 1892 until July 1st 1893 That said Beede Cafe Co Incorporated by the acceptance of the license has pledged itself to comply fully with the provisions of Ordinance No 910 and all amendments thereto, under which this license is granted, and that the same is accepted subject to the provisions in said Ordinanace and amendments provided In Testimony Whereas The Comptroller of said City had hereunto set his hand and affixed the seal of the said City of Seattle, this 25th day of August 1892 J M Carson Comptroller A Blackstone Deputy

Seattle Washington February 15 1894 To the Honorable City Council of the City of Seattle, Gentlemen:-We the undersigned residents and property owners upon the vacinity of Broadway and DeForrest Streets North of Madison Street and who are obliged to make daily use of said streets hereby petition your honorable body to cuase street lights to be places alont the line of siad Broadway and DeForrest Streets are not now established between Madison Street on the South and Oak Street on the North. Office of City Comptroller Seattle Wash Oct 31 1892 To the Honorable City Council of the City of Seattle Wash Gentlemen I hand you herewith a claim for the return of tax alleged to have been paid in error on lot 6 Block 68 Central Seattle Addition presented by Mrs E Hussey. The Auditing committee recommend that said claim be not paid upon the ground that Mrs Hussey by paying the tax and making no complaint at the time placed it being the power of the City to collect The amount from the proper parties. At the request of Mrs Hussey the matter is referred for your consideration Yours Resptly J M Carson City Comptroller
