217 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE Mar 2/83 Hendrickson & Regan per M B M[thousand board feet] $15.90 D S Hill $16.50 And now it appearing to the Council that the bid of Hendrickson & Regan is thelowest and best bid; and that they are the lowest responsible bidders. Itis ordered that the contract be awarded to them upon their giving a bond with good and sufficient surities in teh sum of $500.00/ And not the Council porceeds to open & consider the bids for the sidewalk to be constructed on Battery Street under Ordinance No 362, which bids are as follows to wit: S F Hoole per M B M[thousand board feet] $18.00 S G Simpson per M B M[thousand board feet] $16.90 D S Hill per M B M[thousand board feet] $17.50 And now it appearing to the Council that the bid of S G Simpson is the lowest and best bid; and that he is the lowest responsible bidder. 312 JOURNAL OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE July 27/83 Be it remembered that on this the 27th day of July 1883 the Common Council of the City of Seattle meets in its Council Chamber pursuant to adjournment. The following officers are present, to wit: His Honor the Mayor H G Struve and Councilmen John Collins, O F Cosper, Chas F Clancy, Fred Gasch, Chas McDonald & U M Rasin. Thereupon the following proceedings are had: Petitions Rec'd From the Seattle Gas Light Co. proposing to furnish gas. Laid on the table. From S F Hoole for damages caused by change of grade on Washington Street. Referred to McDonald & Rasin. Ordered that teh matter of D Horton with referende to Seneca Street grade be & it is hereby referred to McDonald & Rasin. Reports Rec'd From Surveyor submitting Plans & Specifications for the Improvement of Pine Street from Front to the alley Between Front and Second Street under Ordinance No 421, thereupon after due examination the same are approved. Licenses Granted S L Carleton for Retail Liquor from August 1, 1883 Bersch & Hink for Retail Liquor from August 1, 1883 Ordered that Fred Cosper be & is hereby placed in charge of Washington No 2 at same salary as now paid to W A Perry on No 1 Bills Paid Fire Fund Chas McDonald To purchase coal $20.
