Plan of grounds

Voted. 9th That Dr. Bigelow be authorized to have a plan of the grounds lithographed & to give names to such ponds, avenues or places as require them, & also to alter any names now affixed.

A plan of Mount Auburn by Mr. Alexander Wadsworth was submitted to the Committee for their examination and approval, which was accepted by them. The meeting was then adjourned to Thursday the 10th instant at 4 o'clock P.M at the same place.

B. A. Gould, Secy pro tempore

At a meeting of the Garden & Cemetery Committee of Mount Auburn held at the Horticulture Rooms, . present, Mess. Dearborn, Bigelow, Bond, Gould, Everett, Cook, & Pratt. Genl. Dearborn in the chair. A letter was received from Mr. Curtis delivering the appointment of Secretary. G.W. Pratt was chosen Secretary. The following votes were passed.

Committee on Acco'ts.

Voted. 1. That a Committee of one person be appointed to examine all accounts that may be presented to the Treasurer, for payment, & B. A. Gould was chosen.

Voted. 2. That the Treasurer be directed to pay all accounts when approved by the said Commitee.

Judge Story's Add'ss

Voted. 3. That Judge Story be presented with 50 Copies of the address delivered by him at the Consecration of Mount Auburn.

Voted. 4. That one copy be presented to each member of the society & ten copies to each member of the Committee.

Voted 5. That the hundred copies of Judge Story's address be reserved & that Dr. Bigelow be a Committee to disperse of the remaining copies of the address.

Form of Deed

Voted 6. That the Deed be recommitted & the Committee have full power to complete it. _

Voted 7. That the meeting be adjourned to Monday Nov. 21. at 1/2 past 3 o'clock

Rec'g Tomb.

Voted, that G W. Brimmer be a Come with authority to purchase a tomb under Park Street church, for a sum not exceeding Two Hundred Dollars.--

Meetgs of Comee Quorum

Voted, that the Secretary be empowered to call a meeting of the Committee at the request of two of the members of the Committee, & at all meetings, three persons shall constitute a quorum, provided no expenditure shall be voted, to exceed fifty dollars,

At a meeting of the Garden & Cemetery Committee held this day, there were present, Mess. Bigelow, Bond- Cook, Brimmer, Gould & Pratt.

Voted, That the application of Wm Lawrence, G. W. Pratt, S. Pond, J. T. Buckingham & others relative to the extension of certain lots in the grounds appropriated to the Cemetery be & is hereby acceded to.

Sub-Comee to lay out Lots

Voted, that the SubCommittee be authorized to lay out the lots thus applied for, & any others that may be required by other individuals until further orders from the Committee.

Proprietors of Lots, &c.

Voted, that no proprietor of a lot shall receive any fees or reward from any person whatever for the interment of dead bodies within his said lot.

Sexton

Voted, that Mr. B A Gould be added to the SubCommittee Voted, that the subCome. be requested & they are hereby authorized to procure a suitable person for Sexton or agent in the capacity of undertaker in Boston & Cambridge -

===Gift ot Lot to Gen. Dearborn===

In consideration of the very acceptable services rendered by Gen. Dearborn at Mount Auburn, for the assiduity he has manifested in carrying into effect the purposes & designs of the Committee, It was in motion of Mr. Brimmer, voted unanimously that the lot selected by him in the grounds appropriated to the Cemetery, be presented to him in behalf of the proprietors & that the same shall be conveyed to him, & to his heirs in the manner prescribed by the rules & regulations of the association,

as a gratuity, & that Mr. Cook be requested to notify him of the same. --

. At a meeting of the Garden & Cemetery Com. held at Dr. Bigelows, present. Mess. Gould, Bond, Brimmer, Bigelow, & Pratt.

Voted, that the surveying Committee have authority to grant the petition of Mess. Stone & Bird, also, that of Mess. Winship of Brighton, & to consider the petition of Mr. Otis Pettee of Newton.

Miss Adams.

Voted, that the Come of Surveys appropriate a portion of land for the purpose of depositing the remains of Miss Hannah Adams.

Gardener

Voted, that a Committee be appointed to confer with members of the Horticultural Society in regard to the selection of a suitable permit for Gardener, for the establishment at Mount Auburn. Voted, that a Committee of three be appointed, Z. Cook Jr} B. A. Gould} were chosen -- G W. Pratt}
