My dear Nannie

It is 3:45 P.M. sitting at my drawing desk supposed to be and I am drawing- but I have finished my model and am waiting for Prof. Clark to come around and criticize it, so have nothing else to scribble you a line on but this scrap of paper which I have spoiled for any drawing purpose. Whether this will amount to enough of a letter to send will depend entirely upon how long it takes Prof. C. to get around the class so I must write fast. Rose has probably told you that I went down Saturday to stay with Mrs. Mabury. Rose felt that her two examinations would keep her too busy to afford the time; so I had to go alone. Went down on the 8:70 train with Miriam Maclaren. M......Then went out to Jeanie's - all the rest of the family being in S.F. for the day. Carlotta having a yellow satin gown made to wear at Eva Hawkings' wedding as she is to be her bridesmaid. Won't she look regal? I had a very pleasant afternoon with Jeanie, we went driving - and got back just as Mrs. Mabury arrived - Carlotta and Bella staying until a later train. Sunday afternoon Carlotta, Bella and I - with a Miss Phelps went to drive. We found ourselves out by the Bartsows' new home and so we went in and had a very pleasant call. Grace played for us and so sweetly and soulfully. Their home is built cheaply rough wood finish inside - no plaster - but the beams and odd corners and nooks make a very artistic home. The main room downstairs is is the music room 23 feet long, quite the pride of Grace's heart. I came back on the 8 o'clock train this morning having had a perfectly lovely time. Mrs Bean and "Joel"called Sunday afternoom and Mrs.Bean inquired youraddress saying she was going to writie to you while visiting'Cathe'. What a cultured woman she is! heart culture and mind culture so combined makes a rare woman. She sent her love to you

[typed] until she should herself write. Bella is going to the business colleg and feels very happy to think she is doing something. O! the time does go so fast and the days are so beautiful. I walk a great deal and both Rose and I are happy the livelong day. One or two of the girls are very congenial and we have very happy times together. What do you think of my back hand writing + I am getting so that I write almost anyway, having to scribble notes so much. Jeanie was very anxious to get my opinion of Howard. It seems he has been quite attentive to her and I think she quite likes him. But Carlotta and Bella quite dislike him believing him to be somewhat of a tody (if that spells it). And I now am so afraid he does put greater stress on wealth than he would if he had not always had to economize so much. I have had my criticisms meanitme and have give just time to say Good bye., before we are excused. I wonder if you are as tired of waiting for the "pictures" as I am.

Love from Theodora.
