286 JOURNAL OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE June 25/83 Ordered that all the foregoing bids be and are referred to a Committee towit: Cosper, Clancy and Gasch. Unfinished Business And now the Council proceeds to consider the Report of the Street Committee on the grading of 4th Street; thereupon after due consideration it is Ordered that Fourth Street be graded and that Sidewalks be constructed on both sides of said Fourth Street from the South line of Seneca Street to the North line of Mill Street. And that the City Attorney be and he is hereby instructed to submit an Ordinance therefor. Adopted upon the following vote, towit: In favor of said order Cosper, Clancy, Gasch, McDonald and Rasin. Against the same none. Ordered that the Council stand now adjourned until Thursday June 28, 1883 at 8 o'clock p.m. Attest: E S Osborne Clerk Approved H G Struve Mayor June 28/83 Be it remembered that on this 28th day of June 1883 the Common Council of the City of Seattle meets in its Council Chamber pursuant to adjournment. The following Officers are present, towit: His Honor the Mayor H.G. Struve and Councilmen O.F. Cosper, Charles F. Clancy, Fred Gasch and Charles McDonald. Petitions Rec'd From Wa Chong & Co. for the privilege of building a sidewalk on South 3rd Street. Referred to Committee on Streets and Street Improvement. From Star Mfg Co. for the right to build a Water Tank and Wharf in Seneca Street. Referred to Streets. And now the Council proceeds to open the bids for the Improvement of South 3rd street under Ordinance No. 399, which bids are as follows, towit: Strong and Harkins earthwork per cu yd 42c
