An ordinanace is submitted to provide for the planking the foot of Marion Street. Referred to Judiciary Comtee. An ordinance is submitted entitled "To provide for refunding money to applicants for a license when such license has been refused;" After due consideration said Ordinance is adopted upon the following vote towit: in favor of adoptionClancy, Day, Harris, Keenen, Northrup, Ranke, Rasin & Wusthoff.Against adoption none. Miscellaneous A report is received form the City Attorney of the powers of the City to prevent the leasing of property to Chinese. Adopted. Ordered that the matter of examining the Beach Road be & is hereby referred to Councilmen Clancy, Harris & Keenen. Ordered that the Attorney be & is hereby instructed to submit an Ordinance providing for a stone iron Sewer in Battery Street from the Bay to the North School House; also for a stone-iron sewer in Madison Street to extend from present Sewer to 5th Street. Ordered that the matter of an Engine House & Police Station for Lake Union District be & is hereby referred to the Comtee on Public Buildings, Property & Grounds. Ordered that the Surveyor be & is hereby instructed to locate the alley through Blocks 105, 106, & 107 D. T. Dennys plat. Ordered that the specifications for a Sewer in Washington Street submitted by the Surveyor be & are hereby approved. Ordered that the Specifications for Sewers in Mill & James Streets submitted by the Surveyor be & are hereby approved. The attorney submits an Ordinance entitled "An ordinance extending the time for collection of assessments under Ordinance No 572", After due consideration said ordinance is adopted upon the following vote, to wit: Clancy, Frye, Harrington, Northrup, Snyder, Sox,Yesler, Latimer & Rinehart. Against adoption none. Miscellaneous And now the Street Comtee returns the petition of the Seattle Lumber & Comcial Co for planking foor of Madison Street, together with their report recommending that the same be denied & recommending further that said petitioners be authorized to make such improvements at their own expense.
