Unfinished Business And now the Council proceeds to consider the Report of the Street Committee on the grading of 4th Street; thereupon after due consideration it is Ordered that Fourth Street be graded; and that Sidewalks be constructed on both sides of said Fourth Street from the South line of Seneca Street to the North line of Mill Street. And that the City Attorney be & he is hereby instructed to submit an ordinance therefor. Adopted upon the Following vote, to wit: In favor of said order; Cosper, Clancy, Gasch, McDonald & Rasin; against none. 337 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE Nov 18 1887 of A C Anderson for permission to borrow earth from the alley in Block 48 Terry's First Addn to provided the same is done under the supervision of the Street Commissioner. Adopted. From same Committee reporting that they have opened the alley on Block 38 of Boren's Plat in accordance with the prayer of the petition of A H King & others. Adoted. From City Attorney stating that satisfactory arrangements have meen made with the contractors on West Street by which they pay of[f] the laborers on said street is secured. From City Attorney reporting that Justice Jones has decided the case of Kendrick vs the City of Seattle against the City & recommending that the case be appealed tothe Dictrict Court. Ordered that the City Attorney take the steps necessary in order to appeal said cause. From Fire & Water Committee granting petition of M Schmidt for permission to make certain repairs to a building on North side of Washington Street between Commercial & South Second Street providing such repairs are made under the provisions of ordinance No 833. Adopted. From Same Committee granting petition of Geo E Clancy & Others for a fire plug conrer of Fourth & Washington Streets. Adopted.
