Emily Harris should be back from Europe at any minute now, and I sure will be glad to see her, I am lonesome, you know and am dying to know all about her trip, expect to go over myself next summer. I "will not"[underlined] remain in the vicinity of N.Y. again if I have to go to jail to get away from it.

I think I told you I was going on another hike soon, the other three girls are still fighting over it which is quite amusing to me. They seem to have tempers, especially Hahy.

Haven't another idea so am going to close before I say

don't know if I would have the courage to stop and see her. I will look like a tramp and then Peggy isn't of the type that I would like to show off, she'd probably make some awful remark beginning with "Hell's teeth" her favorite expression and used on all occasions and in every kind of society, so I think I had better put on the gas and rush through Pelham!

Don't know whether Emily Harris is in the U.S. or not haven't heard from her for ages, she was to have been back around August 3, but no sign of her so far.

think people who do that are much happier as they grow older than if they wait until everything is smooth and rosy. They have much more in common and so much to look back upon, and people can be happy when poor. I'm so happy now, but I'd be out of my head with joy if you just had your arms around me this minute, you old darling lover. Oh how I love you, I can't say it too often, for I think it all the time.

I found a letter from Emily Harris, she is back from Europe and is staying with her family in Bay Head, New Jersey, their summer place, she has been trying to locate me and failed and thinks I have sneaked

Had a letter from Emily Harris, she returns to the Brooklyn Hospital on Monday and has a position in the training school office of the hospital, and all the little student nurses will stand in awe of her. When I think of the deadly terror I had of any one in that position, especially, if I was employed in surrepticiously feeding a Dr. on the ward, or disobeying some other rule, and how Emily was generally involved also, then to have her in such a position of authority, I wonder how she will have the nerve to scold any poor student under her. She looks so dignified that I bet they will run to cover when they see her coming, but if they only knew what she used
