329 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE Aug 9/83 Third & 4th Streets The Motion for the recommendation of the vote by which the Contract for the Improvement of Pine St under the Ord 421 was awarded the Harkins & Strong & entered on Page 323 is lost by the following vote to wit: in Favor of reconsideration Day & Harris. Against the same Ranke, Wusthoff & Rasin. Ordered that the vote by which the order for retaining $500.00 from any Warrants issued or to be issued to Cummings by reason of thereof failure to enter into contracts for the Improvements of Cherry & South 3rd Streets be & the same is hereby reconsidered. In favor of such reconsideration, Day, Wusthoff & Rasin. Against the same Harris & Ranke. The motion to retain $500.00 out of any Warrants to be issued Keenen & Cummings or either of them is lost upon the following vote to wit: If favor motion Harris & Ranke against same Day, Wusthoff, Rasin Ordered that the vote by which the order for retaining $500.00 from any Warrants issued or to be issued to Keenen & Cummings by reason of their failure to enter into contracts for the Improvement of Cherry & South 3rd Streets be & th same is hereby reconsidered. In favor of such reconsideration Day, Wusthoff & Rasin. Against the same Harris & Ranke Ordered that the Warrants already issued & in the hands of the Clerk favoring Cummings & Strong on Columbia street Improvement for $500.00 be delivered to the parties entitled thereto. In favor of said order Day Wusthoff & Rasin. Against the same Ranke & Harris. Ordered that the Council stand now adjourned until Friday August 17,1883 at 8 o'clock pm Attest: E S Osborne clerk Approved H G Struve mayor Aug 17/83 Be it remembered that on this the 17th day of August, 1883 the Common Council of the City of Seattle meets in its Council Chamber pursuant to adjournment; The following Officers are present to wit: His Honor the Mayor H G Struve and Councilment Thomas Clancy, B F Day, Geo W Harris, U M Rasin, Otto Ranke, Charles McDonald and F W Wusthoff. Thereupon the following porceedings are had: Petitions Rec'd From T H Hackett et al remonstrating against changing the grade on Madison Street between 5th and 6th Street. Referred to Streets
