329 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE Aug 9/83 Third & 4th Streets The Motion for the recommendation of the vote by which the Contract for the Improvement of Pine St under the Ord 421 was awarded the Harkins & Strong & entered on Page 323 is lost by the following vote to wit: in Favor of reconsideration Day & Harris. Against the same Ranke, Wusthoff & Rasin. Ordered that the vote by which the order for retaining $500.00 from any Warrants issued or to be issued to Cummings by reason of thereof failure to enter into contracts for the Improvements of Cherry & South 3rd Streets be & the same is hereby reconsidered. In favor of such reconsideration, Day, Wusthoff & Rasin. Against the same Harris & Ranke. The motion to retain $500.00 out of any Warrants to be issued Keenen & Cummings or either of them is lost upon the following vote to wit: If favor motion Harris & Ranke against same Day, Wusthoff, Rasin Ordered that the vote by which the order for retaining $500.00 from any Warrants issued or to be issued to Keenen & Cummings by reason of their failure to enter into contracts for the Improvement of Cherry & South 3rd Streets be & th same is hereby reconsidered. In favor of such reconsideration Day, Wusthoff & Rasin. Against the same Harris & Ranke Ordered that the Warrants already issued & in the hands of the Clerk favoring Cummings & Strong on Columbia street Improvement for $500.00 be delivered to the parties entitled thereto. In favor of said order Day Wusthoff & Rasin. Against the same Ranke & Harris. 111 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE 1886 should be built on Seventh Street from Madison St. to Union Street; Also to the necessity of repairing Dearborn Street between 8th & 9th Streets and asking that these matters be referred to the proper committee. On motion the communication is referred to the Street Committee and the Street Commissioner directed to build the steps mentioned on Madison Street at the corner of the School House Block. On motion of Councilman Furth the Street Commissioner is instructed to put in a street crossing at the intersection of Ninth & Pine Street. On motion of Councilman Furth Street Commissioner Cummings is ordered to construct a stone sewer in Marion Street to the East side of Third street to connect with the present stone sewer in said street, and the purchasing agent directed to purchase the necessary sewer pipe therefor. The Clerk submits an ordinance entitled "A special ordinance appropriating money to pay audited Bills" which after due consideration by the Council is passed by the following note: In favor of the same Furth Frink, Green, Hinckley and Reitze. Against none. On motion Council adjourned until Saturday Auest 13th at 7 o'clock P.M. W R Forrest Clerk W. H. Shoudy Mayor
