Do come up – if you can. The best trains do not all stop here – but at Scranton on Wyoming Ave – you can take "The Scranton Electric" trolley – which will land you in Nicholson in about six hours and a half. If you come up to see us – you will travel thro' "The Delaware Water Gap", famous for its scenery – and tho' Nicholson is only a small village nestling among wooded hills. We have here one of the wonders of the world – "the 8th wonder"[inserted above] – and a thing

of great beauty. Namely "the great viaduct of the D. L. & W. over the Tunkhannock Creek at Nicholson."! You can come up – or make the trip one day in five or six hours. With a good train – on a local – leaving Hoboken at eight a.m. – or thereabouts and on which you would make no change at Scranton you would reach this at about 2 p.m. – Going back – one can leave this – getting on a sleeper here – near midnight – & arriving in Hoboken in the A.M. I trust that this great heat may soon be a thing of the past. If you see Dick give him lots of love

possible to run down there Aunt Anna lives at Nicholson near Scranton P.A. I don't know how far that is [underlined] --- but tell you in case it is [underlined] anywhere nearby. I think the ten dollars Aunt Anna sent you was to bring you down there to see them while you were at Camp Mills (when you expected to be before sailing some time you know).

In any case dearest please wire us as as soon as possible giving us an idea of your whereabouts & how long you are likely to be kept there --- I have planned seriously going up to meet you at Billings --- I want to see my mother too --- & I could pay her a two or three

Nicholson is about fifteen or so miles from Scranton PA ---

Today Cullodens have written us saying they think you will be here very [underlined] soon sooner than we think --- but we believe we are nearer right ---

Fond love dearest & in the hopes of seeing you very soon & of a wire from you first.

Your loving mother R. Helen Bates

All well here only Jocelyn has a slight cold -- no a rather heavy one - but it is better.
