359 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTTLE Sept 11/83 James Street. Referred to Street Committee From Geo Smith for the right to occupy the Foot of Columbia Street for a Fish Stand. Referred to Street Committee Communications Received From the Surveyor recommending the conversion of boulders into Macadam. Referred to Street Committee Committees Reports Rec'd From the Street Committee on the petition of C K Jenner et al for a partial grade on Washington Street 9th to 12th recommending that with the consent of G N Alexander the contractor on said Street, the contract for the grading of said street be extended as the same rates so as to embrace a grade of uniform width between 9th and 12th Streets as prayed for by said petitioners and that the City Surveyor be required to make estimated thereon, that the assessments for said grade be is modified as to be in harmony with the extension of said contract. Adopted Applications for Licenses Ordered that licenses be issued as follows to wit: Davidson & Hubbard for retail liquors for 3 months from Sept 13, 1883 Davidson & Hubbard for 1 Pool Table for 3 months from Sept 13, 1883 James Peddie for retail liquors for 3 months from Sept 13, 1883 Kirschberg & Peddie for retail liquors for 3 months from Sept 13, 1883 T B Timony for 1 Pool Table for 3 months from Sept 13, 1883 Consideration of Ordinances And now the Council proceeds to consider the Ordinance for a Street Railway Franchise submitted by the "Seattle Street Railway Co". Pending which said Ordinance is referred to the City Attorney & is made Special Business for Tuesday September 18,1883 And now the Council proceeds to consider the Ordinance for a Street Railway Franchise submitted by J B Metcalf et al.
