25th. Began to Rain last evening & last night it rainedtremen =dous Hard, all night ground very wet, —
26 Henry gone to mill 2 Bus wheat 1 Bbl Corn, Fed & 2 Horses at Mr Lewis Balance worming & choping newTobacco ground clear & little cool - wrote to Col Smith to get Harry to work for me
27 clear pretty day. worming succoring & toping new ground Tobacco, & big second yrs — Fed & my 2 Black [horses] went to Mr Lewis yesterday morning federick come back in evening & went this morning
28 Fed Still at Mr Lewis worming & succoringTobacco Toped all over yesterday & to day
29 getting up & Beeting apples this morning Fed Still at Mr Lewis s about wheat & my horses

Sept 1st Rained this evening warm
2. Rained very hard again last night Sent 1 Bbl Corn to Mr Peake by Mr Fitzgerald Toping worming & succoring Tobacco at new ground
3 Toping & succoring & worming Tobacco, -
4th. Sent waggon & Cart to saw mill & Grass mill ½ Bbl Corn for meal 1 Long Log for 1 Inch Plank & 1 for Hhd Staves cloudy & like for Rain
5. Sent ½ Bbl corn & got 1 Bbl meal & carried 2 more Logs 1 Long & 1 short [This?] one for squared edged the other for flooring — 10 Inches cloudy & like for Rain finish hilling up big Second years this & began to Pull fodder in fresh ground corn, succoring new ground
6th worming & succoring new ground
7th same work Pull off boards on mountain field Barn this day ——————

1859 May 29th Clear cool day,- I staid at home - - 30 Halled 1 Log to worhsams Mill & Carrd 2 Turns Corn & got 1 of meal -
31st Card 1 Log to same mill & 1 Turn Corn & got the 2 Turns meal, & feet weather boarding - @ 6/- pr Hundred -
June 1st Sent to Fannie W Fitzgeralds after 5 Barrels Corn bot & pd for @$4.00 sent the chair Mrs Hunt gave me to Peaks to mend thining & setting corn this morning then finished weeding in Lower field & come to Orchard, worked Pepper —
2nd Plowing fresh ground Tobacco weeding Corn in the Orchard had little shower Rain yesterday & looks ^ like more to day
3rd Rained a little in the night, planted Peas Plowing corn weeding Fresh ground Tobacco. Rained at Plantation last night & they planting & finished & replanted nearly over wheat taking Rust down there, 4 Replanted our Tobacco lot & all
5 went to meeting Edgehill very Cool day Frost last night & cooler this evening -
6 Halled wood till 12 Oclock Plowing Corn weeding down fresh ground Tobacco,-
7 Same work, chumbly making steps for Porch next to Garden, got Bills shoes changed nearly done weeding fresh ground Tobacco & Plowing corn on Road ——
8 Harrowing Tobacco Plowing corn Choping Corn etc etc Fine Rain in evening I got to Mr Pannills from CH & had to stay all night on acct Rain,
9th Replanting Tobacco this morning & took nearly all day to do it
10 Sent Henry to aspen Grove for Lamb & chickens

1860 Feby 18th went to mauling wood in evening
Feby 19. Started to Court, Fannie stayed all night Sunday night Jere & Sallie went back to school cold day
20. Turned moderate mauling & Cutting wood in new ground, got home Monday night weather moderate
21st Halled Rails till 12 Oclock & then Henry went to Laying off Corn Rows Balance Fencing next to Capt whiteheads I went to Post office Peaks Wallers Vaughans Mr Moses & Fannie W Fitzgerald
22 Fencing on Road to day Wm Shields here Halled up Oats & Halling rails till evening & then begin to Plow in orchard I went to aspen Grove & made [Lines]
2325Fencing on Road & striped Tobacco ½ day & took down some Wednesday & then fenced on Road from Branch Wm Shields worked Thursday Friday & Saturday Rolled Logs 2 days nearly & fenced one - this week Henry Halled wood this evening very windy Friday & turned cold
26 Stayed at home to see Mrs Pannill
27 Went to Court House sent after Cotton Turn of wheat to Yates, & 1 to whiteheads Plowed & Stacked Rails next to whiteheads
28 Plowing & Fencing new ground fence made fence on Road yesterday fine weather at this time
29th Fencing at new ground & nearly finished Plowing in Lot rained a little,-
March 1st Sent Henry & Claiborne to Hodnetts to Roll Logs. Plowing, fine day cleared of[f] Beautiful weather,
