offered to the Corporation

Stone Farm, to this Corporation on certain terms named therein.

After due consideration it was unanimously

Voted. That it is expedient for this Corporation to purchase the Stone estate, now owned and offered to this Board by J.B. Dana Esqr, and adjoining Mount Auburn on the Southerly side, containing about sixteen acres more or less, with the buildings thereon; and that the President with Messrs Little and Bangs be a committee with full powers to carry this vote into effect.

Watriss' estate -

Voted. also. That the same Committee be authorized to negotiate for, and purchase if they think it expedient a piece of land adjoining Mount Auburn on the Westerly side, and now or late belonging to one Watriss.

T. Bulfinch's petition.

A letter from Thomas Bulfinch Esqr was read, asking leave to purchase a lot in the Cemetery at the old rates. The letter stated the death of his father during the last winter, and that the City of Boston had allowed the body to be temporarily deposited in the family tomb under the Stone Chapel to be removed as soon as conveniences allowed a burial place to be procured elsewhere. Visiting Mount Auburn with that view about the . Mr Bulfinch learned that the price of lots had been raised.

Thereupon Voted. That the application of Thomas Bulfinch Esqr for liberty to purchase a lot at the old price, does not come within the rules laid down as to the prices of lots.

Referred to Comee on Lots with full power _

of deciding which course shall be taken as to the charge of the improvements upon the Story Lot in , and said question of interest be referred to the Committee on Lots with full power. _

Perpetual Repair of Lot no. 1530 _

The Secretary reported that the Committee on Lots had contracted with Samuel K. Williams, Executor of the will of Mary Wallach, deceased proprietor of lot numbered fifteen hundred and thirty (1530) for the perpetual care of said lot on payment of two hundred dollars.

Voted that said contract be ratified. _

Representation of Lots

Upon the petition of the parties in interest, representatives were designated for lots as follows: _

1788 Calvin Emery Morse of Cambridge port, son of Calvin Morse, deceased propr of lot numbered 1788;

2308 (Rev.) Stephen G. Bulfinch of Cambridge, brother of Thomas Bulfinch, deceased propr of lot numbered 2308. _

The Secretary authorized to appear in suit brought by H.N. Gardner.

The Secretary stated that one Henry N. Gardner, who was nearly two years since excluded from working on lots in the Cemetery, by vote of the Trustees, and who failed in an equity suit against the Corporation, had brought an action at law against the Corporation.

Voted that the Secretary confer with Mr Rand, and attend to the defense of the suit by the said Gardner.

The meeting was then adjourned to st at 10 o'clock.

Contracts for Perp. Rep. with Guaranty of Lots 1760, 3472 & 3809.

3472 on Clematis Path, belonging to the Estate of the late Franklin Smith for Four hundred and twenty=five dollars; and of Lot No 3809 on Halcyon Avenue, belonging to Mrs Ira Perham for Two hundred dollars; it was

Voted, – that the above mentioned instruments be severally concurred in, on the part of this Board.
