Trustees.

At a meeting of the Trustees of Mount Auburn holden at the Cemetery . Present Messrs Story Bigelow Reed, Brimmer and Crocket it was voted.

Site of Chapel

That the site of the Chapel about to be built should be on a spot surveyed by Mr Higginson for that purpose, near Cypress and Pine Avenues.

That the Trustees will purchase if they can obtain

Purchase of Lots.

them on reasonable terms one or more of the lots numbered 88 - 699 - 700 & 446 for an entrance way to the Chapel.

Price of Lots.

That the term during which the new lots may be sold for $80 be extended to the first day of Au-gust next.

Pursuant to a notice issued by the Secretary, a meeting of the Trustees of Mount Auburn was holden at the office of C. P. Curtis on in the morning. Presents Messrs Story, Bigelow, C. P. Curtis. B. R Curtis Brimmer Gould, Reed, and Crockett.

Grading the Town Road.

Voted. That the committee who have in charge the erection of the iron fence, be authorized to apply to the proper town authorities in Cambridge and Watertown for leave to grade the main road in front of the Cemetery at a Section where it interfered with the construction of said fence.

Comee on building

Mr Brimmer was excused from serving on the Committee on building and Mr Reed was chosen to serve in his place.

Relatives of those interred in the Public Lot.

Voted. That any person who has a relative interred in the Public Lot at the Cemetery may on application to any trustee receive a special pass into the Cemetery on Sundays and that the rules and regulations be qualified accordingly

Secretary may issue tickets on special occasions

Voted. That the Secretary as well as the Trustees may issue tickets of admission to the Cemetery to stangers &c..

Pursuant to a notice issued by the Secretary a meeting of the Trustees was holden on at the office of C.P. Curtis Esqr at 11 o'clock. A.M. Present Messrs Story, C.P. Curtis, B.R. Curtis, Parker, Read, ^B. A. Gould, Brimmer Bigelow ^[?] and Crockett. The Treasurer Mr Bond also present.

Scots Charitbl. Society.

Voted. That the Scots Charitable Society be allowed three tickets of admission to the Cemetery according to their written application for the same, under date .

Lot 584. S. French.

Voted. That in accordance with the application of the heirs. of the late Samuel French dated , the eldest daughter, Hannah French, be designated for the time being to represent the lot in the Cemetery late of said Samuel, and to vote in the meetings of the Corporation

Mass. Hort. Society

Voted. To refer the letter of a committee of the Massachusetts Horticultural Society dated in relation to the sale of rights of burial. and the accounting for the proceeds thereof to a Committee consisting of the President and Messrs C. P. & B.R. Curtis, with instructions to communicate with the Horticultural Society in relation to the same, and to consider the whole subject of the connection of this Corporation with said Society.

Price of Lots

Voted. That the term during which the lots may be sold for eighty dollars be further extended to in the present year.

Lot 156 G. Bond.

Voted. That on application in writing of such of the heirs of George Bond's lot as are not minors, the Secretary issue a ticket of admission to the Cemetery to Mrs George Bond.

Lot 65 W. Pelby

Voted. That Mr Isaac Parker be a committee to compel order Mr Pelby to close his tomb. Voted. To adjourn.

Superintendants Assistant.

Voted. That the Superintendant Mr Howe be authorized to em -ploy an assistant in all cases where his health requires it.

Purchase of Lands

Voted. That the committee on finance be authorized to make the purchase of the Pomeroy place and any other lands adjoin ing the Cemetery grounds as they may see fit to be added thereto.

Chapel.

Voted. That the Chapel when erected shall be built of granite.

Voted. To adjourn to meet again at this place, at .

No meeting having convened agreeably to the adjournment as next above recorded, the usual notice having been is sued by the Secretary for another meeting of the trustees at the house of Dr Bigelow, at , there were then and there present Messrs Story. Bigelow. Read. Par -ker. B.R. Curtis. C.P. Curtis. Brimmer, and Crockett and also the Treasurer Mr. Bond. After some discussion in relation to the proposed Chapel at Mount Auburn Judge Story having formally stated his own opinion to be in favor of the immediate erection of a Chapel
