541 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE Sept 19/84 A communicationis rec'd from Geo Louden offering to furnish Horses for the night time at the Columbia Street engine House. Laid on the table Ordered that the Street Commissioner be & is hereby instructed to purchase a span of horses necessary harness wagon & dump cart Ordered that the Assessment Rolls for Front Temperance Streets Grades & Sidewalks be & are referred to the assessor for amendments under the direction of the Attorney Bids Rec'd For the Proposed planking of Commercial Mill & Front Streets from Blaine & Preston. Referred to Street Comtee Ordered that a brake be attached to Hook & Ladder Truck under the direction of the Fire Comtee Orderd that no new applicant for liquor license be allowed to open a saloon until after his application has been granted by the Council Ordered the the present police force be reduced one additional member at the next regular meeting of teh council. Ordered that the Council stand now adjourned until Monday September 22,1884 at 7&1/2 o'clock pm for the special business of considering the matter of planking Commercial Mill and Front Streets. Ordered that the rate of assessments in order to provide funds to pay for the improvement of Harrison Street under Ordinance No 565 be & the same is hereby fixed at the sum of 114 mills on the dollar Ordered that the note of Assessment on order to provide funds to pay for the improvement of Harrison Street under Ordinance No 581 be & the same is hereby fixed at the sime of 22 millson the dollar.
