454 JOURNAL OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE Apr. 17/84 From Geo. Kinnear et al for permission to grade Temperance Street from Depot Street to Bluff Street. Referred to Street Comtee. From Geo. Kinnear submitting plat, of "G. Kinnear addition to the City of Seattle." Referred to Surveyor for report at next meeting. From Koff & Henerish et al to improve Beach Road. Referred to Street Comtee. 463 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE May 2/84 Be it remembered that on this the 2d day of May 1884 the Common Council of the City of Seattle meets in its Council Chamber pursuant to law. The following officers are present, towit: his honor the mayor H.G. Struve and Councilmen Thos Clancy, B.F. Day, Geo. W. Harris, Charles McDonald, B.L. Northup, Otto Ranke, U.M. Rasin & F. W. Wusthoff. Thereupon the following proceedings are had Petitions Rec'd From U.A. Carr for correcting assessment. Referred to Finance Committee. From D.T. Denny et al for permission to grade Front Street from Lake Avenue to Kentucky Street, along Kentucky Street to Harrison Street, along Harrison Street to Temperance Street along Temperance Street to Bluff Street. Granted surveyor instructed to make the necessary surveys & establish the grade elevations. From Clayton Bros et al for a sidewalk on Front & Columbia Streets fronting Lot 8 Block 8 of Boren's plat. Referred to Street Committee. From W. Brackett et al against granting a license to R. Pritchard for a salon on Jackson Street. Referred to Committee on Licenses. From Robt Abrams et al for correction of errors in amount of cost[ of Battery Street Improvement & for an extension of time. Referred to Finance Committee. From O.C. An Ordinance is submitted by the City Attorney entitled "An Ordinance vacating portions of Allee and Bluff Streets in G Kinnears addition to the City of Seattle" which is passed by the following vote viz: In favor of the same Coulter, Furth, Frink, Green, Hinckley, Russell and Reitze, Against None. An Ordinance is submitted by the Clerk entitled "A special Ordinance appropriating money to pay audited bills" which is passed by the following vote viz: In favor of the same Coulter, Furth, Frink, Green, Hinckley, Russell & Reitze, Against None. 314 JOURNAL OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE Oct 21 1887 in the sum of $17.50 account of injuries to horse caused by breaking through planking on Jackson St read and referred to Judiciary Committee. Petition of J.H.Paine and others for opening Harmon Street from the Bay through to its intersection with Box Street read and referred to Street Committee Communication from the Geo. Kinnear offering to donate Block 26. Geo. Kinnears addition for a public park with certain conditions, accepted and Street Committee directed to put a force work Same. Petition of F.E.Sander for permission to use a portion of 5th Street. for building material, Granted Committe reports rec'd From Street Committee on petition of J.R.Beam et al for opening Third Street, Mary St, and other Streets, recommending that the petition lay over for the present to be taken up at the first opportunity, as the Committee has more work on hand than can be completed for some time. Adopted From same committee on the petition of N.A.James et al for the opening of Roy St from Temperance to Light Streets etc recommending that the opening of Roy, Light, and Bluff Street s as far as Leary St., as the committee deem there us no necessity for opening any father at present. Adopted From same committee rejecting petition of F G Strange and others for opening Williamson St from Mill to Madison Strs. as a portion of the street runs through emplatted ground and there is no great necessity for opening said St. st present. Adopted.
