Miscellaneous. Councilman Rasin submits the following motion to wit: Whereas there has appeared in the public press of this City a Statement purporting to have been made at a public meeting of Seattle Fire Company No 1, by F W Wusthoff a number of this Council to the effect first that the Ordinances organizing the Fire Department of this City was passed in an improper manner. That the Ordinance was bulldozed through the Council by a certain man. That after the Ordinance was passed it was reworded in the Mayor's Office and published as remodeled and not as passed. That the passage of the ordinance was intended as corruption. that Mr Wusthoff knows of several corruptions which have recently come to light. That the ordinance is a corrupt scheme to carry a certain man back into Council And whereas these statements contain very grave charges against the chief Executive Officer of this City and aginst the council as a body. Now that a Specail Committee consisting of Mr Clancy, Mr McDonald and Mr Northrup with Mr Northrup as Chairman be appointed to ascertain whther such statements were so made by Mr Wusthoff, and if they were so made To demand the proofs of the charges against the Mayor, a Statement

City Council and Chief Fire Department for the Cityof Seattle:We the undersigned citizens of Seattle, hereby remonstrate against the removal of Engine No 2 to North Seattle, on the ground that the public interests would be much better subserved by keeping No 2 in its present quarter and providing other means for fire protetion to North Seattle.

Z C Miles raised on Personal Property from $4000 to $8000 Gordon Hardware Co raised on Personal Property from $12,500 to $15,000 Hinds Heirs by E A Turner agt raised on Improvements of Lot 8 Block 2 Maynards Plat from $5000 to $7000 L Diller Assessment allowed to stand as appears on the roll Robt Kninpe Assessment allowed to stand as appears on the roll Spring Hill Water Co Assessment allowed to stand as appears on the roll Ordered that H L Yesler's assessment to changes as follows Part of H L Yesler Donation claim in 4 & 5 T 24 & 25 R 4 E 77 acres valued at $15,400 reduced to 47.98 acres valued at $9600 Also in H L Yesler Donation Claim in Sec 5 T 24 N R 4 E 4.60 acres be raised to 5.76 acres valuation raised from $2760 to $3460 B Gatzert appears on behalf of Schwabacher Bros & Co and files a written request that the valuation of the stock of merchandise given in by said firm, to wit: $60,000, remain at that sum.
