at the "Ormond" about half a mile from here, but Mrs Grant thought the sea air would be beneficial to her so came over to the "Coquina" hotel. She has already derived much benefit and hopes to be quite well when they all leave for home on the 19th. Mrs Grant is looking very well but she is easily tired and worrried. Mrs Grant sends her love to yourself and the Senator, and hopes she may have the pleasure of seeing you in New York, if you have not left for California before she reaches there.

I am here alone at Narragansett with Mary. I expect Col Fred and family for a few weeks, then Nellie and her young party. I have invited several old friends from Washington but they had all gone to their places for the summer and are too feeble to make another move
