Your communication dated May 10th reached me, and it is needless to add, has given me sincere pleasure and satisfaction.

From the very first conception my husband had in regard to starting the University to the memory of our loved one, he had you in his mind as an adviser and helper. You probably remember what, to us, was a very memorable visit, at your home in Ithica. Your interest at that early date, your sympathy and your willingness to aid in selecting the best man for a President, was always remembered with tenderness by

representing the "Crucifixion" and the third, the "Ascension". Between these windows, and all around the apse, is mosaic work representing the Glory of the life of our saviour. This mosaic work represents a large number of figures 19 ft. high. Below these, in the center, I have an exact copy in mosaic of the "Lord's Supper" in the Sistine Chapel at the Vatican, and on either side of this, to finish the apse, are all the old Prophets of the Bible in Mosaics. Under these mosaics there are niches cut into the solid stone for the twelve apostles in Carrara marble, which are exact copies of the Apostles in the Church of St. John Lateran in Rome.
