thought the best way was to play "Pit". So we did. I thought they were never going home, and I was getting so sleepy. One has fallen for Ruth and the other for Mabel. The oldest of the four was seventeen so you can imagine what kids they were. Finally at 11:30 they decided to go home.

After they had gone the skunk still remained with us. Mabel had not come home yet so I slept with Ruth. We were afraid that the skunk might climb up the wall of the sleeping porch. Finally we forgot about it and went to sleep.

Florence sent over a book for me to read to-day. "The Valley of the Giants", by Peter Kyne.
