Edward Austin Esqr
Dear Sir,
The following is a copy of record of doings at the meeting of the Trustees on Monday last:
The President submitted a model of a public monument in memory of the heroes who have fallen in the present war for the preservation of the Union, which he proposed should be erected in the Cemetery, to be paid for either out of the surplus funds of the Corporation, or by obtaining subscriptions for the same, as the Trustees may determine. --
Upon motion by Mr Bowditch, Voted that the subject of this or of any monument for the purpose be referred to a Committee of three, to report upon at the next meeting: and
Messrs Austin, Norcross and Rand were so chosen.
Very Resp.y
