5th Beautiful day over head Phil cutting up Logs for fire wood alse & Henry halling out manure on Potatoe Patch Fed making 2 pr shoes for Lucy Ann children this day —
6. Thrashing out oats, Henry went after a Load of wheat straw to Mrs Hunts.
7. Went after waggon to Pitts, cutting up Trees on Branch fire wood - very pretty Weather over head Snow melted very much,
8. Snow nearly gone this second Sunday a beautifull day over Head —
9 Halling wood & Burning Log Heaps started 1 Hhd Lugs this day by Geo Bruce, he finds himself & I paying him ferrigage[ferriage] 4$ carriage 75¢ for fodder & he gets 4 Bushels corn in Lynchg at River which I have to Colo Smith to let

18th Decr 1851 Owen moved yesterday very cold weather only set up one Hhd, new ground near House — very cold on the night of the 18th this night some person broke in my Smoke House drawed the Staple & opened the Door Only taking out Our flour Tub & something like ½ Bus flour & 1 Hogs Head. thats all we back bones & spar Ribsmiss except some
20 Clear & Cold, Halling wood & cutting Jacob & Jordan gone to mill 2 Turns wheat carried leave one of them have the other ground into flour & get one Turn corn meal at mill – –
21st cloudy & cool day Jacob went to Mr Fitzgeralds
22nd This morning snow about 4 or 5 Inches Deep Rained last night & hailed & then snowed all in house to day making brooms spining etc etc —Picking cotton —
23rd Cutting in new ground Some spining Sewed Our Lots back of Garden & by prize barn & Granary in clover seed Timo= =thy & Herds Grass seed – —
24th Cutting in new ground Snow melted but little very cold I am going to Mr Franklins & to see Mr Smith & Dove about the rent of Mrs Clements childrens Land -- etc etc —
24 & 25 Went up to Mr Franklins for Lucy Ann to see about her negroes they are sick 2 of them then I went to Smiths & Doves to Rent the Land to Dove took his Bond & to collect of Smith & Dove got no money at all, stayed at Mr Fitzgeralds
24th at night & come home in Rain 25th in evening
25 Still Raining & Turned warmer
27 Still cloudy & like for Rain or snow, Jacob & Jerry gone to Mr Fitzgerald
29th Still cloudy & like for Rain weather more moderate, Nannie gone to Mrs Colemans & a few days ago to Mrs Hunts, Sent Jordan for my papers —
