3 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE May 7 1886 From Custodian of Powder House received and ordered placed on file From Park Commissioners approved the following reports of Committees are received: From License Committee on petitionof Mauer and Steinle et al for allowance for time closed by martial law recommending that the petition be not granted; adopted From License Committee on petition of W C T U that Mrs F H Leger be permitted to peddle articles of her own manufacture without license, recommending that the petition be granted; adopted From Finance Committee returning report of City Surveyor of closing measurement of Union Street sewer, with the approval and recommending that the Contractor S Simpson be allowed the sum of $154.90 on motion the report is approved and warrant ordered drawn in accordance therewith From Finance Committee on petition of M Hays for refund of taxes paid by mistake recommending that the petition be granted and the petitioner be allowed the sum of $5.27 on motionthereport is adopted and warrants ordered drawn in accordance therewith. The following officers are present to wit: His Honor the Mayor HL Yesler & Councilmen Calligan, Hall, McDonald & Lake There not being a quorum present it is ordered that council adjourn until tomorrow June 22 at 8o'clock pm H L Yesler mayor Attest W R Forrest clerk Jun22 1886 Be it remembered that on this the 22nd day of June 1886 the Common Council of the City of Seattle meets in its Council Chamber pursuant to adjournment.
