15th Commenced burning small Plant Bed on mountain this morning weather moderate & cloudy to day Went yesterday to Mrs Hunts Bring Lains Ezekial East & shop to carry hides for Miller to Tan3 carried— got the shingles my Plow & a little straw from Mrs Hunts yesterday Sewed small Plant Bed on mountain this night in the rain, began to rain about night —
16th rained nearly all night cloudy this morning & we are striping Tobacco at new ground —— 17th Finally a rainy Day Striping Tobacco

1847 Feby 4. Very cold & windy Fed malling Henry helping Mr Lain & halling wood the ballance cleaning out stables & raking leavesetc
5 weather moderating halling wood & sills etc for waggon House, malling etc
6th Malling Rails & cutting down corn Stalks this morning, Mr. Lain framing waggon shelter, weather fine & fair, -
13 this week burnt Plant Bed on Branch above House striped Tobacco one day malling Rails & Grubing on Johns Branch Lila compla[in]ing & I [bleeding|[bled]] her Mr Lain at work on waggon House & little house this week — Pleasant putting latches on Gates etc etc etc, no plowing downby us yet
17 Sent waggon to mill 10½ Bushels corn 1 Log to be sawed into Railing 2 by 3 In. for yard & also 2 Bags seed Cotton weighing 46 lbs 47 lbs 93 lbsbags in allmaking newthis dayground fence
18 Striping Tobacco, Raining Mr Lain at work in shop
19 striping Tobacco & prizing Lugs. nearly done. Lady Jane Lame by a hurt.
20 Sent to Mr Lewis's to Roll Logs 2 hands balance cutting in new ground & Piling wood,

1847 August 6th Raining this morning a little finishing working branch then worming & succoring Tobacco Henry gone to to Glenns Mill with 5 Bus. wheat for flour 2 Bus for Armstead & Wm Myers & 2½ Bus. corn for me — etc etc Lila Spining cloudy warm weather
7 Raining this morning & last night all night spining shoemaking & Picking wool etc

10. Cloudy this morning. Toping & worming Tobacco this morning, I am scouring etc etc Fine growing weather - High Fresh in creeks about here very hard Rain A week or Two ago Wm B. Averett of Lynchg & Green Robed the bank. Averett Ran off Green they have in Jail
11th Rained nearly all night ground very wet & Raining this morning cleaning out Stables & Spining etc etc etc
12 Grubed & cleaned up mountain field this day, went to see Ezekiel East sent Island & bot it.
