14th Novr. 1849 Clear fine weather — “ “ “ Sent by Jacob to Bro Yates $1.s worth for of wheat for old Bro Angel. -

15 Gathering corn & Housing at Mr J.D. Hunts went to Sal[e] Bot at alonzas sale 1 Pad Lock 2 Dutch Plows. singleton & 2½ pr Hames for $1.28

16. cloudy & like for falling weather shucking corn & Housing - Mrs M. here

17. Finished Fanning out our wheat one time Halling stalks leaves & wood. cut & Picked up stalks on Branch in evening. cloudy for Snow& like

18 Went to Harmony Grove meeting cloudy a little& Rained

19. Went to Wm Jinnings Sale to get a Horse for Mrs McCullock but faild to get one to suit Halled up 9 Loads of corn to day

20. Shucking & Housing corn cloudy & like for Rain Mr. Adams here in Oct & startedourTucker Clock & it has keep good time ever since

21st Made & Thrashed 176½ Bushels wheat 1849. The tolls of which is a little more than 8 Bushels & 3 Pecks which I Expect the Lord permitting to send to Mr. Pannills to morrow also to carry Twenty Five Bushels to same Place for Mr Lewis — his toll, - I have laid by 17½ & 1 Bushel to Ex at the 1 we got of Mr Neal & have now over 40 a little to sell

22nd Sent to Mr Pannills 8 Bus. & a little over 3 pecks wheat by Henry for toll to Mr Organ for Thrashing our wheat 1849 carried 30 Bushels for Mr Lewis - Halling up corn, nearly have got the Big corn House full - fine weather

to get Her wheat next week If we can, it has been raining nearly all this week & to days is friday - desperate time we have had this week -

7th August 1857 Sewed Turnip Patch to day upper Corner summer Turnip seed sewed & in Lot the 8th a few sewed from Mr Yates,- Henry Sandy & Jordan

8th augt Toping Tobacco at Johns Branch Finishing Hilling up new ground this morning except a bottom too wet Plowing & Hilling up fresh ground next to Crews s fine weather clear growing weather ground very wet.

9th Went to Sunday school no teacher there all gone to Edge Hill about 18 or 30 scholars I stayed there till 12 Oclock Jennings Yates & Martha I. Dews taught

10th Tying up primings Plowing & Hilling up fresh ground Tobacco next to Crews -. fine shower rain yesterday Evening - very seasonable now &has been for sometime Corn very promising etc - Tobacco very sorry generally we took our Honey last week very good =Lila complaining last night & this morning sent for Mrs Neal & she had a child a Girl sometime in the day

11th fine Rain last evening we are this morning firing priminings cleaning out new new Barn & then Plowing & Hilling up fresh ground next to Crews & finished in the evening near night, Plowed in Lot till night

12th This morning toping & succoring Tobacco clear last night & this morning very seasonable weather, Sent Abram to Fannies this morning to see about machining wheat etc.

13th worked on road to day Grubing on branch By spring got up a few apples

23rd Sewing wheat Pulling corn putting up apples & Irish Potatoes etc, Halling up 4 Loads out of upper part of Lot & shucked last night - warm weather ————

24 Bob went down to Mrs Hunt brot her Loom & Bureau & got some hops Sewing wheat next to Capt whiteheads choping around stumps where we sewed wheat in fresh ground & cutting down & Pilling stacks - I went to Barksdale Hubbards & Dawsons & aspen Grove collected for Grasty - - etc - swapted Horses with John shields to day gave him Charly & Lucy for his Gray Horse John & $5 to Book [Boot]

25. went to Wm H Wallers for Grasty - Finished sewing wheat next to Whiteheads fixed Gate pulling Corn & Halling wood.

26. went to James McHaney|Jas W McHanys]] for Grasty. pulling & Halling corn & stacks out of Lot. began to Plow & shuck corn in evening - I went to old Place for Jennings

27th Court Martial held here to day, my wife & Mrs Hunt gone to Fannies & Kates Sewing wheat in Lot Shucked out corn putting stacks in stable loft - & housing corn,- fine weather —

28th my wife came home I went to Strait Stone Pray meeting & to Plantation

29th Mr Cothran Sent the waggon up & I am this morning cleaning out stables, getting pieces for chimney Bob is cutting wood sent Jerry down after Bet & a ps cloth to Miss Neals to weave, sewing & Harrowing in wheat in upper part of Lot - to day fixing to start to Lynchg in evening. Raining some -

30. 31 1 Novr 2nd Do working on chimneys Daubing Houses Cutting etc raining all the time this week.
