With this I send pictures of Great, Great, Grand children of Dr. Joseph Lathrop (285) of West Springfield Mass. (Mr Hewes took the portrait to be copied). The red cloak that went with the portrait was his brides Elizabeth Dwights, married 1759. I also sent a picture of his Grandson Paoli Lathrop my husband grandfather of many children 1279 and one of Great Grand son John Lentner Lathrop nephew 2224

These now sent are children of Bessie Lathrop Rowell 2240, She is the daughter of Paoli who was their Grandfather I find by the Lathrop Book Dr. Lathrops Grand Father Joseph 27 was brother to your ancestor Israel 26 sons of Samuel 7 Your brother first wrote me about the genealogy, he first made the effort to collect the family and afterwards handed over to Mr Huntington what he had with money besides, he died before it was finished previous to this we had the Lathrop tree which I sent you You see it is only our family

that is carved out it was gotten up by a Grandson of Dr Lathrop for private use. I also sent the looking glass. I forgot to say this is our boy 6 in his first suit. The chair he is standing by is over 100 years old. The same boy with his sister 9 years old. The two together Philip Lathrop Rowell b. Feb 15 1885 Elizabeth Lathrop Rowell b. Jan 11 1882

read the text until I took it to Mr Hewes to give you Ps. 119, [92] "Unless the Law had been my delight I should have perished in mine affliction." It seemed to me it was a voice sent from the Bible as well as Dr Lathrop The text must have been a comfort to you Your affliction was so sad, "What love what loveliness what agony does that one word only represent"

Mine was an only child God has spared her and given her these two little ones

It will give me pleasure to hear from you till then I am yours in family bonds
