My dear old Snedward:

Welcome back to the land of home. I only wish we could all be in New York to give you a rousing welcome, but wait until you get home, and you will be hugged to death by us all. Yesterdays Chronicle says that the 126th - except the 3rd Battalion arrives New York about May 9th. I am told that Co M is in the 3rd so we dont know what ship you are coming on. Be sure to wire us as soon as you arrive telling us as closely as possible your future movements. Dick is on the U.S.S. Alabama at Philadelphia. I have written him today to meet you if possible, of course he may have gone to sea, but again he may not. We are all well at home and hungry for a sight of you. Jack & Ella are still with us, not yet having found a house. College does not let out until June 4th so Jos will be driving hard until then. Dick sent Mother (through some Oakland store) a most beautiful box of roses for Mothers Day. It came yesterday although the day is not until the 11th [inst.] If you see Mr.Guthrie be sure to remember us to them all, and try to find out from him what it really was that Junior Medcraft said about Norman.
