1859 Mr Fox at work on Well 2nd day Henry halling Rock etc Jas Shields Brot me 9 Barrels Corn, fine day -

Novr. 4th Mr Keatts finished chimney & left - Mr Fox at work on well, fine day. Johns Estates Pleasant & charles Halled Rocks to day & Henry all day

= 5th Fox at work on well chumney gone to the store, 2 Boys Cutting Henry Halling wood, sent Robin to shop to be shod before, Fox & Horse been here since 9 Oclock ThursdayWednesdayleft Saturday evening fine weather Mrs Hunt came back here this morning but going to Johns again. Fox left ½ after 2 Oclock this evening & horse went to Plantation in evening. No Fox, Hewed ps for Ice House in morning Killed little Beef weighted 142 lbs Halled up ½ stack Oats, cutting in new ground, Isaac overby here to day quite cool —

8 no Fox yet I went to Pannills & Tan yard got no Leather Sent for waggon fixings for Lynchg in morning chumbly shingling Henry, House claiborne & Jerry Smith Cutting malling Rails & wood & Piling –

9th Mr Fox has not come. Henry went after waggon & started to Lynchg this morning malling Mr Chumbly & little Henry at work Negro House

10th Nails gave out this evening I got back in Two days from Lynchg

19th June, 186. Put my Jenny about 2 weeks ago to Fariss Jack - Halled up stack Oats & 1 Fodder or broke the fodder stack moved into Dining Room to eat to night, Salley gone to CH Plowed Peach Orchard Corn & sweet Potatoes weeding down new ground Tobacco Send claiborne down to aspen Grove for scythe & Cradle, my old sow has five pigs - clear pretty day

20th Finished weeding down Tobacco, Laying by corn next to Capt Whiteheads, put stack Fodder in stable Loft this morning Mrs Hunts returned from CH to day with Sallie & Allice, fair weather I went to aspen Grove found them cutting wheat 5 of sheep & Lambs Dead there Fair weather

21st Bob here this morning fixing scythes & going to begin to Cut wheat in Lot sent Charles to Post office,-

22nd I went to see Mr Chumney yesterday, Rained in evening & stoped us from cutting wheat to day choped out Peach Orchard Corn, & worked Garden Plowing corn next to Whiteheads Cut some wheat all thats ripe clear & very cool of nights at this time

23rd Choping & Plowing corn next to Capt Whiteheads very cool & clear this morning Bob been here since wednesday —

24 I went to Prayer meeting & then to Capt Gilberts to see the old Poeple

25th Finished cutting wheat to day here fixing spring making fence & Plowing & choping in corn next to whiteheads - I bot Fannies mare Fleetfoot If she is sound when I see her at my Plantation at $50.

In the Swapt got a watch silver $30. Guarde & Key $2½ 1 Breast Pen & Ear Rings $11 & 1 Breast Pin for my wife $7 - pd 3/- The Horse I got 12 or 13 years old — Works well etc - cloudy & like for Rain

7th Sent Henry & Jerry Smith to aspen Grove for a Lamb, Hilling up Tobacco in the near new ground. Planted cucumbers yesterday for Pickling - Mrs Hunt came back yesterday & bob gone to CH after Mrs Hargrave & Nannie to come down to Mrs Clements Funeral, = Mrs Hunt slept well last night,- cloudy weather

8th Rained a little this morning & cloudy all day the hands from Hunts plantation helped us 3 or 4 Hours this morning strip Tobacco we are striping all day Charles gone to Post office in evening. Mrs Clements Funeral appointed for Tomorrow so cloudy & Rainy I did not got to meeting to S S. to day Bob gone to CH yesterday after Mrs Hargrave etc - etc

9th cloudy & like for Rain this morning we are about to start to the Funeral of Mrs Clements on our return Mr Penick & his wife he Preached the Funeral, Mr Hargrave & his family Mr Overby & his son Isaac, Fannie W Fitzgerald, & Edd & all their Horses Dined here, & Bob & Mrs Hunts Horses - quite cool to day Bob Cutting oats in evening Mrs Hunt & Mrs Hargrave came here about 10 oclock Mr J Shields & son Wm helped us about oats to day did not get done. Hot & dry Hot & Dry yet Finished Cutting oats this morning

24th Bob Sick & Mrs Hunt Complaining went down to aspen Grove Thrashing wheat sent 4 hands & my Horses. did not get done clem & charles at home Shrubing Corn Land Plowed up Turnip Patch fine weather

25th Finishing Thrashing wheat at aspen Grove Machine will go to Mrs Pannills to day Hired Ben to go with it @ $8 pr month Mr Wright came here to work on yard this morning – fine weather this morning I have got Lucy bot from Fannie & like her very well to ride

26th machine at Mrs Pannills Mr Wright here, Halling manure on Turnip Patch this morning choping & hilling up Tobacco Second time, next to Whiteheads,- Jerry went to see Isaac overbyyesterday

27th Finished Thrashing at Mrs Pannills & got to James McHaneys about 2 Oclock, had to feed Horses & fix got out one stack this day

27. Machine at James McHaneys getting out wheat Ben with it at home striping Tobacco Mr Wright here fixing & work on Railing. Mr Cothran met met me yesterday to help fix down machine - cloudy & like for Rain this morning machine went to John Shields from McHaney did not do any thing at all

28th last evening a fine shower of rain about 10 Oclock Mrs Coleman Sent for Nannie I went with her got back about 1 oclock quite unwell to day myself, gave Mrs Coleman a dose of Calomel, went to Chumneys this morning Sent to yates to have hischild coffin made

28th Sent to Store & got shroud for Chumbly child & sent it there machine put down at shields by Ben himself Bybee sick & did not go there at all Nannie gone to Mrs Colemans again to stay all night striping Tobacco, claiborne gone to help Frank Blanks raise Barn, Finished Thrashing wheat at shields & moved machine to Mr Hunts place this evening etc etc etc

29th I am complaining to day —

30. Toping Tobacco this morning in new ground. working out the ps next to Capt Whiteheads fixing down machine at Mr Hunts place Charles Complaing last night gave him some medicine Mrs Hunt complaining - fine growing weather, tho ground not wet yet. Mr Wright Came to work on yard worked till night & taken sick in the night

31st Mr Wright Sick this morning & gone from working Tobacco down below new Barn machine at Mr Hunts place fine shower of Rain last night or evening Jacob P Graves here,

Augt 1st Halled Load Rails some wood & then Plowing & Hilling up Tobacco at near new ground. Set in Poles for straw. Mr Wright Came again this morning

2nd Thrashing wheat this morning & finished by Dinner here. Cothran & his hands help us & 2 Horses cart & steers, - Finished Plowing Our Tobacco in evening Hilling up etc.

3rd Hilling up new ground Tobacco Sewed Turnip Seed this morning White & Milley Brot. home by our folks yesterday from plantation.
