H H Young D McKeon Office of Young & McKeon Plumbing, Gas and Steam Fitting Roofing and General Jobbing 721 Front Street Seattle W T Feb 1st, 1884 To the Honorable Mayor & Common Council of the City of Seattle since my last Report there has been seven(7) fire alarms only one(1) that was of any loss that of Slorahn Malt House & King Co Jail. We have received 750 ft more hose making in all about 2400 ft both Engines are in good order. Both are supplied with now heaters. The Pipes to all three Inclines are in good order and have not bin without water this winter by freezing or any other cause (notwithstanding the complaint in last night's Herald) I would ask if the Hook and Ladder apparatus belongs to the city fire department or is it private property. H H Young D McKeon Office of Young & McKeon Plumbing, Gas and Steam Fitting Roofing and General Jobbing 721 Front Street Seattle W T Mar 1st, 1884 To the Mayor & Common Council of the City of Seattle report of Fire Warden for the month of February one fire on Washington Street Between Second Street & Third Street close to the Fire Department 75 Ft 3/4" hose I would recommend that some action be takin in regard to fire slips as the one at the foot of Columbia Streetis of no use except at High tide.
