16th Nannie sick now with Bowel Complaint Rainy fine growing weather
17th Cutting Oats to day & Plowing corn at mountain field. Hilling up & working Tobacco at new ground Halled up last stack Oats Nannie has been sick for nearly 10 days - -

2nd went to Sunday School went to Mr Dews & mrs Hunts
3rd cloudy, fixing to go to Lynchg, going to Carry Fannies Tobacco, Balance triming out wheat yd this morning & then Hilling up new ground Tobacco Fixing for Lynchg going after machine carrd Load for Fannie wool carrd to Card 1 Bag fine Bag & all 16 lbs 1 Do Coarse Do 17½ wool Left in Lynchg 33½ lbs to be Carded augt 57 —pRect
7th augt 7th we have been to Lynchg card a Load of Tobacco for Fannie Fitzgerald, & Brot wheat machine Home from Mr Whittemore cost with Band $154.48. pRecd warranted for 12 months,- our folks has been Hilling up new ground Tobacco Toping it & shoeing making for ourselves. to day after we got home went to toping fresh ground Tobacco, left machine at Fannies

1858 June 24th My Horse Taken sick at Fannies this morning Jerry Came after me I went up there & found him Dead, Died about 10 Oclock I reckon his Disease was Grubs & Colic, – My Wife up there yet,- very Hot weather
25th Rained this evening about night Cutting wheat Finished by new Barn & Cut some in fresh field, nannie came home & Kate with her Just before the Rain, Jordan nearly broke Henry Jobing etc working out Lot by House
26. I went to Mr Hunts & Cedar Hill We are cutting wheat prizing Tobacco weeding Tobacco & Plowing some in Tobacco -
28 This morning put all the tobacco we had out Saturday in Hhds under prize. Cutting wheat in fresh ground all out for once - Mr Morton ^Pannill is to be buried today
29th Henry taken Sick with Bowel Complaint again at 12 Oclock very Hot weather Cutting wheat yet Henry Plowing in Corn Malissa at work in Tobacco at Crews Shower of Rain last Evening after Dinner
30th Finished Cutting wheat yesterday evening Henry Plowing in Corn & Cotton, malissa in Tobacco, Laying by Corn to day & weeding Tobacco at Crews,- Dry & Hot weather
July 1st weeding Tobacco at Crews Plowing by Corn out next to orchard - Sewed Peas in Corn this morning - prizing Tobacco every morning, nearly done 2 Hhds
2nd working Corn on Branch with Hoes but Did not get done before the Rain fine Rain in evening Laying by Corn next to orchard 3rd Rained yesterday to day 2nd we Replanted Tobacco in morning & then Cutting Oats.

1860 May 31st Replanted Tobacco to day all over,- Thinning corn & nearly finished that going to Plowing this evening, Elvira & Amy very sick with dissentary Sent for Doct Thompson yesterday & this evening again
June 1st Halled Brick for Dining room floor this morning & Lathes to lath Dining room. Fair & clear to day - Bob has been here all this week, weeding corn next to Capt Whiteheads., Mrs Hunt rested tolerable last night, this morning very bad off indeed Mr Faris here yet put up mantle in Dining room this morning - fair & clear weather Mrs Lucy A Clement has been sick about 10 or 12 days & Died to day about 2 Oclock, with congestion in Bowels so I hear - nanny went up there to day
2nd I went to aspen Grove sheared sheep Killed One Lamb Mrs Clements buried today. Amy my little negroe Daughter of Clementina Died to day with bowel Complaint Elvira very Sick. Doct Martin was here & went to see them both. said he did not consider them dangerous
3rd Amy Buried to day Elvira very sick yet Doct Thompson came to day, Mrs Coleman Mr & Mrs Hargrave Come here to day Rained this evening. Mrs Hunt is very bad off yet. - quite sick all day to day -
4th June Bob here, John Came to fix Dining room, Mrs Hargrave staied last night with her Ma, Mrs Coleman here yesterday cloudy & Rainy this morning, Henry Halling up leaves in stables, - etc - working Sweet Potatoes Peas Cotton & Corn Henry & Harry Plowing in corn in Lot; my Horse Lame for several days. -
