1857 Sept 19th & 20th Went to meeting our folks Tyed up fodder & cutting tops till it rained & wormed & succored Tobacco till night on Saturday Fannie WF. & Kate S & Jeremiah W Graves gave in their experience & on Sunday the 20th was Baptised by Bro Mason, Little Jerry got a fall after carriage & hurt himself very much and sick very Ill & on MondayFuneral Preached by Elder JB Hardwick 2nd Saml 12 Ch 23rd V. 21st Died about 2 Oclock
21st. Wormed & succoring Tobacco Cut tops pt of day
22nd Rained nearly all day carried Jerry to Capt Fitzgeralds, worming & succoring Tobacco
23rd Began to Cut Tobacco & attended to fodder at mountain, cleared off very pretty & Mr Hardwick Preached Jerrys Funeral & he was Buried Cutting Tobacco & Hung all Jerrys & Nannies & began to Cut at Johns Branch Cut 950 stacks Johns branch opened Fodder etc
24th Cutting Tobacco on Johns s branch Henry took all day to go to carry Fannie home stacked only 1 stack fodder - last night
25. Worming & succoring at new ground opened Fodder Jordan gone to mill 5 Bus corn Sandy Cutting scaffold at Johns branch Henry & claiborne fixing new Barn to put Tobacco in
25th Finished this morning cutting & hanging Johns branch first cutting wormed & succored Tobacco at mountain in morning Sent to mill 5 Bus corn for meal, stacked fodder last night & sent Robin & Clay to shop etc
26th moving Tobacco from old prize Barn to new wormed & succored at new ground Sent Fillmore to shop greased horses for snits this day Calf has got his Leg Broke

11th May 1859 Plowing or coltering & Harrowing Corn on far Branch, Replanting there to day I went to Riceville yesterday —
12th coltering & Harrowing & Replanting Corn Mr Chumbley fixing steps at front door fair cool weather, ground getting very dry, have not rain for 3 weeks
13th Bushing wheat & Rye, Picking plant Beds & manuring them, fixing Garden to Plant Greens Weeding Sweet Potatoes, Henry & claiborne Plowing & Harrowing Corn, Mr Chumbly fixing Carriage Tongue, & table,
14 Plowing or Harrow Corn weeding corn in Bottoms on far Branch
15 Bro John D Hunts funeral Preached by Witherington & Hardwick at SStone meeting House this
16. I went to Court, Halling Rock for chimney. weeding Corn etc etc
17th Halling Logs to Mill & Plank from Worsham Mills, Sent Corn Balance planting Peas etc, this morning cloudy & like for Rain
18th Rained Halled 2 Loads ^stocks to Worhsams Mill & Halled Plank home began to Plant Tobacco
19. Planting Tobacco fine season in fresh ground, Mr Overby here this evening still cloudy & like for Rain -
20 & 21st Finished Planting fresh ground Tobacco little Corner in Lot some by Corn House Planted out Garden in Greens & Planted Some Yam Screan - Beding Lot For Tobacco Planted Sugar Cane in Lot Warm fine weather, weeding Corn to day part of the day, Mrs Hunt sent her Bureau here to day - Bot for Mr Chumbly 2 Bbls Corn 3 for myself & 10 for Bro Hunts Est.
