Wednesday 25th May 1836. It commenced raining & continued on cloudy & raining More or less and on the 6th day of June being Monday it commenced raining very hard and that night Such a rain fell as never has been Known in this part of the Country Mr Millers Mill Saw Mill & Cotton machine & several other houses washed away one colt drowned, Doct Whites [unclear] & and the under work of his Mill Some washed away so that he cant grind meal Whiteheads Mill dam broke, Gower Keatts Mill house & all gone - Degarritts all gone, Patricks, shanks, gone - all I have yet heard from Banister Brid[g]e gone Stinking river Bridge gone -

1837 February the first & last Jany is fine & warm we have sewed 3 plant Beds Two on my Spring branch & one John’s spring branch —

Tuesday 7th February 1837 - = 1839 July 13th It is said that powdered allum say 1 Table Spoon full will purify a Hhd of water& make the water good to Drink - to a Tub full of 4 Galls 1 Tea Spoon full will purify the water & make it goodNews paper Herald

1842 Novr 30th Hailed nearly all night the 29th & till nearly 12 Oclock this 30th Novr 1842 about shew [shoe] Deep - = myself & Lady went to Lynchg in this month,-
