Pursuant to a call issued by Fred H. Peterson, member of the City Central Committee from the 4th ward, a meeting was had by the delegates of the late Republican City Convention on Friday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock, June 3d, at Room 715, New York Block, and on roll call it being ascertained that a quorum was present, the following proceedings were had by said meeting: Fred H. Peterson was elected Chairman and E.P. Edsen was elected Secretary of said meeting. The chairman having stated the object of the said meeting, to-wit: to recommend a citizen of the 4th Ward to fill the vacancy caused by the death of R.J. Dodds, late Councilman of said ward, upon ballot the said meeting selected J. L. Neagle, Esq., as the unanimous choice of said meeting to fill said vacancy, and upon resolution unanimously carried by said meeting, Councilman J.A. James was requested to put in nomination the name of J. L. Neagle, Esq., before the Honorable City Council as Councilman of the 4th Ward to fill the vacancy caused by the death of the late R.J. Dodds, Esq. In testimony whereof we hereunto subscribe our names as the officers of said meeting.
