Seattle May 6 1893 To the Mayor and City Council of the City of Seattle Greeting: Whereas there is now being pronted and circulated in this city an certain paper known and designated as the Sunday Breeze Mercury, and also a certain other paper known and designated as the Sunday sun: and Whereas, these papers do smirch the character of our citizens and corrupt the moral of our youth; and Whereas certain of our sister cities, deeming such publications unfit to be read by their citizens, have prohibited their circulation within the corporate limits of such cities; Therefore, we, the undrsigned, most respectfully petition your Honorable Sir and Body to take such action as will effectulally stop the publication and distribution of said papers in our own fair city. To the Hon. Mayor, Common Counil and Board of Public Works of the City of Seattle:

Gentelman:-

We, the undersigned citizens and tax payers of the city of Seattle, residing on and in the vicinity of Harrison Street, repectfully represent that said Harrison Street is a thoroughfare that is greatly in need of improvement, being used a great deal by teamsters becomes cut up in the rainy season, therefore your petitioners respecfully ask your honorable body to order said Harrsions Street planked from Kentucky Street to Poplar Street two Blks, and your petitioners will ever pray.
