To the Mayor and City Council of the City of Seattle Greeting: Whereas there is now being printed and circulated in this city an certain paper known and designated as the Sunday Breeze Mercury, and also a certain other paper known and designated as the Sunday Sun: and Whereas, these papers do smirch the character of our citizens and corrupt the moral of our youth; and Whereas certain of our sister cities, deeming such publications unfit to be read by their citizens, have prohibited their circulation within the corporate limits of such cities; Therefore, we, the undrsigned, most respectfully petition your Honorable Sir and Body to take such action as will effectulally stop the publication and distribution of said papers in our own fair city. twenty-four (24) north if range four(4)east of the Willamette meridian, and running thence north seven hundred and sixty two (762)feet; thence east eight hundred and fifty-one and forty eight one hundredths (851.48) feet thence south seven hundred and sixty two (762) feet; thence west to the place of beginning, containing fifteen (15) acres of land; also so muchofthe south half (S 1/2) of the north half (N 1/2) of the south west quarter (SW 1/4) of the south west quarter (SW 1/4) as is not included in the description last before this; the south west quarter (SW 1/4) of the southwest quarter (SW 1/4) of the southwest quarter (SW 1/4), all in section No fifteen(15); and all of the lands included in Maynard's Lake Washington plat south of A street in said plat; all of the hereinbefore described lands being situated in township No twenty four(24) north range four(4) est of the Willamette meridian. The said territory containing not less that three hundred (300) people within the boundaries thereof, has an established post office with daily mail, and the needs of the community thereof demand a municipal gov. ernment of an incorporated town.
