164 Columbia City Wash July 5th 1897 the Town Council of the Town of Columbia met in regular session at 8:50 o'clock Brown, mayor pro tem in the chair. Cameron, Voland and Brown responded to roll call. Osgood and McGarvin absent Motionwas made to declare the office of McGarvin councilman vacant, he having failed toqualify for said office. Carried. Motion was then made to re-elect Mr. A A Hepler to fill vacancy. Carried. and Hepler was reelected; and his oathof office properly filed. Motion made to issue a warrant in favor of Guy Groat - Emergency fund - sundries. - Amount $4.50 Carried. Motion made to transfer fifteen dollars ($15.00) from the General to Emergency Fund. Carried. Motion made to issue warrant on Emergency Fund in favor of D W Brown for lamp used by Town Council - amount $1.00 Carried: Marshal's quarterly report read and referred to Finance committee. 191 Columbia Wash Oct 10th 1898 No quorum, but the regular salary warrants for the preceding quarter were issued by consent of two councilmen and chariman of the Finance Committee. Present Mayor Reeves, Councilmen Hepler, Osgood, Cameron and Campbell, Marshal [Whittington]] and the Clerk. Minutes of previous regular session read amd approved.
