15 Columbia February 6th 1893 The Council met at the Town Hall, Mayor Hutchinson presiding, the following councilmen were presentWillacy Sullivan, J Hellenthall & BondThe minutes of the last meeting was read and on motion approved. The following Bills were read and warrants ordered drawn for payment of same. Bill from the Hepler Lumber Co for stationary 35 cents. Bill from A S Keller for 1 Corporation Seal $6.50 Bill from Lowman and Hanford for blank books $8.40 Bill from Koch & Oakley Printing Co for $5.00 General fund Warrants $6.00 Bill from A H Hepler for servin as inspetor of Election on Dec 28th 1892 and carrying returns to County Auditor. $7.50 Bill from J C Huff for serving as clerk of Election Dec 28th 1892 $5.50 Bill from C R Hepler for serving as Judge of Election Dec 28th 1892 $5.50 Bill from B R Shaw for serving as Judge of Election Dec 28th, 1892 $5.50 Bill from B R Shaw for serving as Judge of election Dec 28, 1892 $5.50 Bill for Seattle Telegraph for "publishing petition for incorporating" was referred tothe Finance Committee. Ordinance No 9 Providing for the assessment levy and collecting of taxes and other wise relating to the manner of raising revenue for the town was read and on motion passed by the council and approved by the mayor Ordinance No 10 relating to the manner of doing public work within the Town of Columbia and providing by whom the same shall be done, was read and on motion passed by the council and approved by the mayor. Ordinance No 12 Accepting the terminal condition of a contract made by the Columbia Home Co with reference to the Town Hall and the land upon which the same stands was read and on motion passed by the council and approved by the mayor.

76 Columbia Feb 5th 1894 The town council met at the Town Hall Mayor Hutchinson presiding Roll call and the following council men present - Calder, McKay, Willacy, Groat & Chase The minutes of the last meeting read and approved. The committee appointed to interview Mr Camp in regard to the running of Cars in the town limits made a verbal report and on motion the same was acceppted and the committee discharged. A petition was read praying for the wages of common laborers to be placed to the old rate of 25 cents per hour. the Matter was discussed and on motion the petition was laid on the table indefinitely. Motion made and carried that common laborers be paid at the rate of 25 cents per hour. Ordinance #41 taken up and on motion the same was laid on the table indefinitely. Ordinance #42 regulating the salary of the Marshall, Clerk, and Attorney read and on motion passed by the council and approved by the Mayor. On motion Mr. Hellenthal was given one week more time to report in. Bill from Z C Miles for water pipes and fittings $96.69 read and on motion ordered paid. Bill from Hepler Lumber Co for pipe fittings $ read and on motion ordered places to their credit on water rent. ordered paid. Bill from William Willacy for cash paid for frieght $2.90, Car fare 10 cents, sharpening picks 90 cents total $4.15 read and on motion ordered paid. A compliant from Nettie Wood asking for $5000 damages sustained by a fall on Columbia St read and referred to the City Attorney.

94 Columbia Oct 1st 1894 Town Council met pursuant to adjournment Mayor Hutchinson presiding Roll call : following Councilmen present Groat, Voland & Chase, The minutes of the last meeting read and on motion approved. The clerk quarterly report read and on motion accepted and ordered placed of file. The following Bills read: Bills from Hepler Lumber Co for lumber $.76 Bill from E L Hepler for work on proposed sewer on Rainier Ave $.63 Bill from C L Woodman for engineer work $5.00 and on motion warrants ordered drawn for payment of same. Motion made and carried that warrants be drawn to pay the Clerk, Marshal, & Attorney their Quarterly Salary. Motionmade and carried to allow Mr. Hellenthal to build a drain on Rainier Ave from the North side of Columbus St to the South side of Ferdinand St Motionmade and carried to "lay the questionn of building the sewer on Rainier Ave " on the table until next Monday evening Oct 8th. 109 Columbia May 13th 1895 Town Council met pursuant to adjournment Mayor Pierson presiding Roll Call and the following councilmen present Groat Calder & Almquist Theminutes of the two last meetings read and on motion approved. Bill from Hepler Lumber Co for lumber $5.29 read and on motion a warrant ordered drawn for payment of same Marshal Huff reported ont he progress on the sewer being built and on motin the same accepted and he was instructed tofinishthe same as soon as possible by employing help to be paid in warrants The report of Treasurer Schade for the first quarter of the year, read and on motion asccepted and ordered placed on file. The committee appointed to audit the books of the Clerk and Treasurer read and on motion accepted and ordered placed on file. The Committee appointed to investigate the matter on bonds of the officers of the Town made then refused and on motion the same accepted and the comittee discharged The bonds of Tresurer Schade read and on motion accepted and placed on file. On motion the office of councilman McKay declared vacant Motion made and carried to postpone the election of a new councilman until the next regular meeting. Motion made and carried to postpone the appointment of a Police Justice untl the next meeting. Motion made and carried to accept the payment of Poll Tax by W D Calder for 1894 and payments of Poll Tax for this yer. Motion made and carried to refuse to accept General Fund warrants in payment of water rent On Motion the Attorney instructed to draw an ordinance reducing the water rate to 50 cents per month for each family. also to draw and ordinance transferring $25.00 fron the gen fund to the emergency fund.
