Referred to Judiciary Com. & Com on Sewers & Drainage Petition of L Typhert et al praying that a license for sale of malt liquors be granted R Pritchard received and on motion laid on the table. Petition of Fred Voight et al for Gas Lights Corner James & 6th & James & 5th Sts received & referred to Committee on Gas Lights Petition of Chas Baker et al for policeman in North Seattle. Referred to Committee on Health & Police Petition of O J Yates praying for settlement of his grade tax was received and statements of Councilman Furth & City Atty Hanford heard in explanations thereof, After due consideration it is

Report adopted Report of City Attorney read and referred to Judiciary Committee Committee Reports From Street Committee recommending that the petition of H H Pease et al for sidewalk on Spring Street be not granted adopted. From the Committee on Sewers and Drainage on the report and recommendations of the City Health Officer, recommmending that the Council take immediate action in the matter and require all persons to connect water closets and drains with main sewers on both Union and Pike Streets. Report adopted. From same Committee recommending that the petition of James Pollock heretofore referred by not granted. Report Adopted. From Committee on Gas Lights asking for further time to report on petition of Voight et al. Granted. From the Judiciary Committee recommending that the petitionof Samantha Burton for damages by reason of the James Street grade. be not granted Report adopted. Against none An Ordinance is submitted by the Clerk entitled "A special ordinance appropriating money to pay audited bills" which is passed by the following vote: in Favor of same Calligan, Furth, Harrington, Hall and Young.
