Where the following proceedings are had to wit: Petitions Petition of H Schodicet al to open Leonora Street from Seventh St to 12th St Referred to Com on Streets Petition of A MacKintosh et al for Street Lamp Corner of Third and University Streets Referred to Committee on Gas Lights. Petition of J A Hatfield et al praying for two additional street lights on Gislers Wharf. Referred to Com on Gas Lights Petition of J M Frink et al to change the planking ordered laid on South Second St and Jackson St from 16 ft in width to 24 ft in width and place the same in the middle of the St. Rec'd & read & on motion laid on the table. Petition of R McGilvery for permission to establish a white Laundry on North side of Washington Street between 2nd & 3rd streets. Granted upon condition that the premises be fitted up under the directionof the Chief of the Fire Dept. 741 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE Feb 5 1886 Petition of Citizens of Houghton et al praying for the establishment of Madison Street and the buildingof a sidewalk thereon. Referred to Street Committee Remonstrance of Matthias Baily et al against the abandonment of Leonora Street between the alley and Front Street; read and tabled. 341 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE Dec 8 1887 Maynard's Plat read & granted. Communication from J J McGilvera in regard to Madison Street grade read & referred to the city Atty. Petition of O J Carr & others for street lights on West Street from Virginia Street to Vine Street read and granted; said lights to be of 16 candle power & placed on wooden posts. Petition of Frederick Prosch for a cross walk on Fourth Street at the corner of Virginia Street read & referred to the Street Committee. Petition of A G Murray for permission to build on addition to his oyster stand on South Second Street read and granted. Petition of Thomas Burke & others for grading alley in Block 9 Boren & Denny's Addition read and referred to Street Committee. Petition of Henry Adams to have assessment corrected, read & referred to the City Atty, and returned by said Atty with the recommendation that it be rejected. Adopted. Petition of N L Rodgers & others for opening Leonora Street from Front Street to Fourth Street and that the bluff on the bank on the East side of Front Street on said Seneca Street so sloped enough to prevent land slides onto Front Street sidewalk, read and referred to the Street Committee. Petition of L M Robbins & others asking for appointment of J L McClellan to a Police Captaincy read and tabled.
