42 Saturday the 6th September 1834
Throughout these 24 hours light
breezes from the W ward. Our ship
under all sail. First part steered
to the S E ward. The Meteor [?] Ameteor [?] in
company. One other ship in sight
to the Sth ward. At 6 PM the
wind SSW. Tacked ship and
steered to the W ward. The remainder
of the day passed several ships
to the leeward. On the opisit [opposite] tack
saw one finback. Hands employed
in drawing and knotting yarns
and other sundry jobs as necessity
required. So ends all well. Lat by
a blind observation was 2:25.
Longitude 15:49 by chronometer.

43 Sunday the 7th
Began with strong winds from
the Sth ward that continued
throught out these 24 hours. Ship
under all sail. Steering by the
wind. First part stand to the
W ward. At 10 PM the wind
SS W. Tacked ship and steered
SE untill 8 AM when the wind
shifted to the Sth. Tacked a gain.
Steered WSW the remainder of the
day. A ship to the wind ward
supposed to bee [be] the Columbia
of Sag Harbor. The day being the
the Sabbath no labour done
more than necessity required. So
ends. Lat obsd 2:03 Long 15:45
