Translation

that it be so judged that once
the father is dead
and his children too, without other
of their heirs remaining,
that fief therefore returns immediately
to the lord or to the
lady who gave the
said fief for this is the law
and the rule according to the assise
of the Kingdom of Jerusalem.
Here you will hear the rule concerning
the bannier of the king and of his summons
and of what force it has
if one does not do that which he told him
on behalf of the king.
Know well that
if it should happen that the king's
bannier should go to
to summon a liege man on
behalf of the king or the queen
or on behalf of the bailiff of
the land, and he says that he [the liegeman]
should go to the king who wishes to to hold court
or has a certain need of him
and the lige man responds that he will go right away, and he if does not go at all
and the bannier returns back
to him in that place two times

and on the third time and speaks to him again
and he does not come to the court,
the rule states that the liege man
acts against his faith and
renounces God because he had promised
to do all of his commandments and
and did not do them. But if the bannier
might have summoned him by the king
in the presence of two other
liege men and upon this he does
not want to come to court
and the leige men want
to say by their faith that the bannier
summoned him on behalf of the king,
they having seen and heard this,
and he does not want to come to court
this day with no excuse
that he should come to his court,
the rule states that the other liege men
should judge him to be
disinherited for all of his days of his
life of whatever he holds of the king.
But if the bannier had summoned him all alone
just as is said above, then
