Honorable Mayor and City Council.

Gentlemen;-

We, your committee on Water W9rks, to whom was referre the attached petition asking for the balance of the I00 lights donated by the Polytechnic St/Ry.co, amounting I5, recommend that the same be granted and the Superintendent of the Electric Light plant, and the City Electrician, be insturcted to place said lights as instructed by this committee.

TO THE HON. MAYOR, and the Board of Aldermen, of the City of Ft. Worth:-

Gentlemen:-

WHEREAS, in the Eighth Ward of the City of Ft. Worth, there are now and have been for many years, only three electric lights, and

WHEREAS, the Eighth Ward is one of the large extent, and many of its streets are not graded and gravelled, and it is very difficult for the people of the said ward to traverse the seas of mud with which they are confronted in bad weather without the aid of electric lights, and

WHEREAS, the undersigned, the Alderman of the said Eighth Ward, has been informed and believes it to be true, that of the lights donated to the City of Ft. Worth by the Glen Wood & Polytechnic St. Ry. Co., about fifteen have never been used by the City, and

WHEREAS, the undersigned has been informed that the city can with little expense furnish the poles and lamps in order that the said lights may be erected and do good and benefit to the citizens of said city,

NOW THEREFORE, Be It Resolved, that the proper official of the said city be instructed to erect in the Eighth Ward ton of the said lights donated by the said Glenwood & Polytechnic St. Ry. Co., and that they be erected immediately and connected with the power of the said Glenwood & Polytechnic Ry. Co. in order that the citizens of the said ward may have lights at the earliest possible moment. And that of the said lights, four be erected on Lipscomb street, one being at the intersection of Lipscomb and Magnolia Sts., one at the intersection of Lipscomb St. and Terrell Ave., and the other two on said Lipscomb St. be erected at such points as shall do the most good.

That two of said lights be erected on Granger St. at points which shall in the opinion of the officials of the city furnish the most light to the most people. That two be erected on Broiles St. at places which shall in the opinion of the officers of the city furnish the most light to the most people.^ and that the others be erected in the most advantageous place in said ward That one be erected at the intersection of College Ave. and Magnolia St. and that one be erected at some point on College Ave. where it will furnish the most light to the most people.

In view of the fact that no Incandescent lights have ever been furnished to the said ward by the City Government, and that these lights can be furnished and put in operation at small expense, the undersigned, Alderman of
