Dearest Daddy & all:

Louisville, Ky is a very interesting and beautiful city located on the Ohio River. At this point, the river is very wide and not as swift as in Ohio.

For the most part, we have had a concrete road all day, and I suppose in another year, the road from Conneticut (?), [Connecticut], to Louisville will be all concrete. Our road today has led us over miles of almost virgin timber land. So much of the land is rolling hills that farming is out of the question. The more southern part of the state is supposed to be even more interesting, especially around Lexington, which unfortunately

we miss.

Auto camps are a minus quality in this country, tourist homes have replaced them. People with extra rooms rent them out by day or week & they are run on the same order as hotels. I suppose we will be stopping at them from now on if they are convenient, [[inserted above]: (?)]], when we are ready too, [to], stop. Tomorrow, we well, (will), stop to visit the Mammoth Cave & will tell you about that tomorrow nite, [night].

Gm ready for bed so shall " skiddale" (?).
