a pound Butter, a jill of wine. Strew in it what Quantity of Spice
you please, melt your Butter & Sugar, in about a Quart of milk when
just Blood warm Strain the wine from the Spice, & with 3 Eggs & /2a half
pint Yeast, stirup all together with a Large Spoone, Set it a rising &
Bake it in a Butterd pudding pan

Short Cake

To one pound Flour, take one pound Sugar, 3/4 lb Butter twelve Eggs leaving
out half the whites, Spice of {which} mace is preferable, a little rose water
about four Spoonfulls, two drops oyl Irodium, Beat {ye} Eggs & Sugar
roll ye Butter & Flour together

Little Cakes

Take 4 lb of flour, 1 lb Butter, 1 /2 lb Sugar, 12 eggs, a /4 oz Spice a pint Yeast
and a little Milk

Little Cakes in Pans

Take one pound flour, one pound Butter, one pound white Sugar
pounded very fine, & five Yolks of Eggs, wash the Butter in water
{then} work in it rose water & /4 lb. Currants, mix them all together.
