Donald M. Painter Box 00 W. Concord, Mass. September 13, 1965.

Dear Dr. Miriam

On this occasion I am standing in for our friend Jim. He hasn't been feeling well these past few days, and feels guilty that he hasn't answered your last letters.

Your letters have been wonderful for him during this period, as you are aware. It is a trying period, but our faith is high and all will eventually turn to the btter for John.

And I do wish you wouldn't apologize for not writing me. We share your letters and if one of us receives one it is like we all were the recipients (over)

I started out just to say a few words for Jim, but my 1/4 Scotch blood won't let me waste any writing space.

Things are going well in S.D.G. ronnie A. has gone home, and he is doing well after first finding it difficult getting a job to his liking. He wants time to further his education and his present hrs of 3 to 11 pm allows him this grace. He will be a credit to S.D.G. and the faith we have in him.

We all hope to see you soon and please don't worry about writing me.

With love and friendship, Donald
