Dr Van Waters-
Realizing you are my only salvation in this place as usual I am making an appeal to you.
You see, I wrote home to my sister for money to buy some cigarettes. I havent any and that is about all I care about. However I made out a [store?] card for a carton

which Miss O'Keefe OKed then she turned around and she flatly refused me and said id have to wait until Monday. Well, I havent any cigarettes and dont want to wait until then so could you find someone who could get them down town if it would be alright with Mrs Delaney. Miss OKeefe always refuses me for anything regard less of what it is.
Thank you. Gladys

Dear Dr.
Ive been wondering just what the story is about my teeth. I was to have an appointment at Dr. Barry's office down town . What is holding it up. Id like to get them done sometime soon. I know that it isnt your fault please do not misunderstand. Are they [waiting?] the permission from the State House or what Dr. Id appreciate any information you can give me. If its the money paid of it I can have my sister take care of that immediately. Dr.[J?] Barry said it will cost approximately thirty five or forty dollars. Hope to
