We have been so very busy that I am just now getting around to answering your last letter. I do hope by this time you are all straightened out for the winter months.

I do hope you are planning on coming to the Institution for dinner on Thanksgiving Day, it would not be a complete day unless you came.

For now I think I will close, hoping to see you on November 28th, until then -

I hope you received hankerchiefs- Box was broken I receieved box of sweets, They are so good, I eat a few every day I think of you, would like to know, who bought them I hope you had a nice Christmas mine was loney, all by my loneliness, I got a card from Miss Weinber, One from Miss McNally, dont forget to send me a calendar that is if you have one to share how is your Mother also yourself.

My Dear Dr Van Waters

I was surprised to receive lunch a bounty of fruit in a nice basket I thank you I would like to know, The strange person you speak of as S. Whoever it is, I am grateful to them, I got a Valentine For you Saturday - was not going to send it before Thursday I thought every one had forgot me, how is your dear Mother I will bring the basket to you As you will be, better able to make more use of it, thanks I hope you are well

The care is very pretty, I like nice things, my attic room is not my way of life, but I have got to be grateful for that, so many in the world with no place to live

once again thank you I did not sleep so good last night remembering how kind of you to remember me - Bessie my Love to you
