7th Brigade of the Virginia Militia 1797.

The Commissioned Officers of the several Regiments composing this Brigade will meet at this wiral? places, for the purpose of being one headed agreeably to Jan, [1778?].

The Officers of the 32nd Regiment will meet at Staunton on Wednesday The 5th of April & continue till Saturday following inclusively. the Officers of the 58th Regiment will meet at Harrisonburg on monday the 17th day of April next, and continue till Thursdau following inclusively. The officers of the 13th and 97th Regiments will meet at Woodstock on Tuesday the 25th of April next, and continue till Friday following inclusively at which times and places respectively, the inspector will attend and give the necessary instructions: when it is hoped the officers will be assiduous in this endeavor to fullfill the object of their meeting. The inspector will please to forward without delay, a copy of this order to each Commanding Officer of the aforesaid Regiments, who will order accordingly.

An agreement between Ambrose Walden and Jessey Carney, Ambrose Walden agreether to sell one hundred acres of his leas hold land in the Manner of Leeds ajoining Ashby's Gap to run an equal number of pole on both lines square with the road line with the offset lines from the road leading through Ashby's Gap, he the said Jessey Carney paying sd. Walden for said Hundred acres of land thirty pounds on {derand?] and twenty pounds more on the twenty fifth day of December one thousand seven hundred and ninety five the said Ambrose Walden gives up sd. Carney [?] assignment of that part of his leas and his interest in every respect up to the [?]. Carney paying six pounds pr. year rent upon sd. Woodstock Sept. 2nd, 1800 Regimental Orders Sir, Agreeable to Brigade Order of the 27th of Augt. You are to attend this place with your Subalterns, on Tuesday, the 21st of Oct. Next to Receive the Instructions of the Brigade Inspector & continue Untill Thursday Inclusive, & on Friday [illegible] will be the Regimental Militia. The Coln.
